Personal Bankers of Little Rock: Sharon Roberts
January 26, 2018
Little Rock native Sharon Roberts’ entire career has centered around banking. After graduating from McClellan High School, she was hired by Pulaski Federal Savings and Loan but two years later, she moved to Danville, Arkansas, taking a four-year break in her banking career to start a family.
In 1983, Sharon moved back to Little Rock and re-entered the banking world, this time with First State Bank at their Sherwood branch. She had an opportunity five years later to join the National Bank of Arkansas where she worked until asked to join Pulaski Bank, where she stayed for 10 years.
Through her friends and banking connections, Sharon had always heard what a wonderful place Bank of Little Rock was but she sat tight. At least until the right opportunity opened up in 1999.
“Everyone told me that I needed to be at Bank of Little Rock but I was reasonably happy where I was at the time. Fortunately, I decided to take a chance when a position opened up and I’ve never looked back,” she says with a grin.
Sharon really enjoyed the years she spent working at Bank of Little Rock’s Highway 10 branch, and she’s recently moved to the Merrill Drive branch, located at 1717 Merrill Drive. Sharon opens all types of accounts for customers and wears various hats at the Merrill Drive branch. She says, “I enjoy doing everything necessary to keep things running smoothly out here,” and you can easily see that she’s telling the truth.
Today, Sharon has been married to Stephen Roberts for 27 years and has two daughters, Rachel, 38-years- old, and Kayelin who recently turned 26. Plus, Sharon and Stephen have two grandsons, Payden and Austin, who help keep them young. Did we mention animals? Sharon and Stephen have a full spread of pets -- two ducks, two birds (including a parrot), two inside dogs and one outside dog.
Sharon says she loves her customers and co-workers equally because they both feel like part of the same family. If you either live or work out in or around the Pleasant Valley area, stop in and see Sharon. She’s a great example of what it means to be a Personal Banker.
